History

rivershack at Badger Brook in the Town of Badger Newfoundland occupies an historic site. The old A&D Company Garage was formerly at this location. The current structure was later built directly on top in 1974 as the Town Post Office. Local entrepreneur, Tony Hurley purchased the building after the closing of the post office.

Tony used it as the temporary home of the budding heavy equipment school, Central Training Academy.  With success came his new school complex and Tony then converted the building into the hockey themed pub. Between the Lines was a tribute to the town hockey team The Badger Bombers. Tony added a roofed patio and then later closed it in. Thereby almost doubling the size of the original building.

In 2009 we convinced Tony’s son to sell us the then unused business. We operated it for several years as The Purple Frog Bar & Grill until eventually closing as planned in 2012. Then the slow process of creating rivershack began. What followed was a slow and therefore lengthy renovation process. We have tried to preserve as much of the original character of the building as possible.

Now, we humbly offer it to you as rivershack at Badger Brook.
